You can choose from several supervisory mechanisms if you wish to pursue recourse for a violation of freedom of association principles. The recourse you take will depend on whether your country has ratified ILO Conventions on freedom of association.
Check if your country has ratified the relevant Convention.
If the relevant Convention has been ratified:
- Sending Article 23 observations to the Committee of Experts of the Application of Conventions and Recommendations (CEACR)
- Complaint to the Committee on Freedom of Association (CFA)
- Article 24 representation
- Article 26 complaint
If the relevant Convention has not been ratified:
- Complaint to the Committee on Freedom of Association (CFA)
- Sending Article 19 observations on unratified Conventions
Technical assistance by the International Labour Office can also be requested in both cases.
